SE: Autumn end of season meeting
October 3, 2015 @ 10:30 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday October 3rd, 2015. 10.30 a.m.
Autumn end of season meeting – Emmetts garden, Ide Hill near Sevenoaks, Kent, then at Pat Acock’s house, 13 Star Lane, St Mary Cray, Kent, BR5 3LJ.
Leader: Pat Acock
Emmetts belongs to the National Trust. Set in woodlands that are rich in fern interest in their own right including some ancient American Osmundas, this beautiful garden is the highest in Kent (and probably the south-east). The entrance is £7.50 but if we are 15 we may be able to pay £6. This may be unlikely since many people are NT members. If we all gather at 10:30 members may be able to get friends in. There is a tea room that is open in case of inclement weather
Afterwards we will meet back at my house for lunch. In this now traditional end-of season meeting, we will see presentations of the year’s fern activities at home and abroad. And finish the day with tea. How very English! Please also bring along any other items of fern interest.
To enable the programme to be arranged, I would be grateful if people could advise me of any presentations so that I can ensure we have enough material or you may have to listen to me all afternoon or a preview of the Glasgow meeting.
Last time I ran out of lunch which I am sure is a crime in BPS Law.
Hoping to see you there,
Pat
