Scottish Group – Autumn Indoor Meeting

BPS Scottish Group meeting on Saturday 27 September 2014

Programme

10:30: Arrival, coffee, greetings

11.00: Tour of the garden

12.00: Plant sales & Book sales

12:30: Lunch

13.15: Adrian Dyer on ‘Henry Bradbury and his Nature-Prints’

14:00: Bridget Laue on ‘Ferns of the Italian Alps’

14:45: Planning the Scottish Group Programme for 2015

15.30: Tea

16.00: Meeting closes

If you have some extra ferns, please bring them for the Plant Sale, to defray Group expenses.

Please bring ideas about fern excursions for 2015.  We also need people to lead or host these events.

Refreshments will be provided by the hosts but let us know if you are coming so we know how many to cater for.

How to get here

By train : From Edinburgh to Lenzie, 2 trains per hour (change at Croy)

From Glasgow to Lenzie, 2 trains per hour

Exit station on booking office side, turn left, walk a few yards down station lane. We are the second of the two large green metal gates.

By car : From Edinburgh, easiest to use M9 (to Junc.8), then M876, then M80 to Junc.3.

From Glasgow, M8, then M80 to Junc.3.

Exit towards Kirkintilloch, then immediately B757 to Lenzie.

In Lenzie, at first mini-roundabout take second exit, at second mini-roundabout take first exit, then second left (Beechmount Road). Glenbank Avenue (a narrow lane) is first right. Park in Beechmount Road.

By bus : From Glasgow, X85 or X87 to bus stop before Lenzie Station. Walk up station lane to first of the two large green gates.
