Corndon Hill
July 23, 2014
A field outing to Corndon Hill, Radnorshire, about 5 miles north of Bishops Castle
Situated in the extreme east of the former county of Radnorshire, Corndon hill is known as a site for a number of uncommon plants, including several ferns not usually seen in the area. Long standing members of the BPS may recall a visit there back in 1985 (The Bulletin Vol3 No2). We visited rather more recently and found a good range of mountain ferns including Cryptogramma crispa, Phegopteris connectilis and Gymnocarpium dryopteris amongst many others.
Meeting at 10.30 in the Car Park for Mitchell’s Fold stone circle at SO303981. Stout boots and packed lunch required.
