SE: Back to Netherfield

September 3 @ 10:30 am - 4:30 pm

We are back to Netherfield the most wooded parish in England. We shall meet in Netherfield park by the side of Eatenden Lane (Netherfield to Mountfield) at TQ 734189.This may change closer to the time
and explore Eatenden, Crowhurst and Burnt House woods. These woods have among the greatest diversity of ferns I’ve seen in the south-east, featuring Dryopteris aemula, D. carthusiana and possibly Oreopteris limbosperma, among others of course.
After finishing mid-afternoon, Mark Border has kindly invited us to his fascinating garden, or possibly to that of a friend of his who also has an interesting collection, and which will be new to us.
Leaders will be Peter Clare and Paul Ripley, with vital help from Mark Border.
