WS: Old Court Nursery, Picton Garden, and a walk in the Malvern Hills

September 7 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

For anyone with an interest in gardening the Old Court Nursery and the Picton Garden, famous for its collection of Asters, will need no introduction. Those of you, however, who have not visited for a while may not have realised that a new passion for ferns has arrived there and they are amassing a serious collection. They have been kind enough to invite us to visit from 10.00, before the nursery and garden are usually open and to arrange to guide us around the garden.

Information on the garden can be found at Old Court Nurseries and The Picton Garden – Specialist growers of Autumn flowering Asters since 1906 (autumnasters.co.uk). We will be offered tea/coffee and biscuit/cake on arrival and there will be a charge of £7.50, collected on the day, to cover refreshments, garden entry and the tour.

As this is will be the last meeting of the year, we felt it would be good to have lunch together and then, given we will be in the Malvern Hills, an afternoon walk. There may not be exceptional fern interest but good company, great views, and, fingers crossed, good weather!

Meet at the nursery at 10.00am. Plans for lunch and more details to be advised near the date.
Leaders: At Old Court Nursery and Picton Garden, Helen Picton and Ross Barbour. Later: Brian & Sue Dockerill
