WS: The garden of Tim Brock and Cors Caron National Nature Reserve
July 27 @ 10:30 am - 5:00 pm
We last visited Tim and his garden in 2014 when, despite him having not lived there very long, his collection of Asplenium scolopendrium cultivars was already well established. Since then the collection has expanded, not least as a result of his extensive hybridisations, and he has now added a 30` by 10` shade tunnel. Beyond this collection Tim grows a wide range of other ferns and plants. We will meet at his house, Delfryn, Pentre Rhew, Llanddewi Brefi, Tregaron, Ceredigion, SY25 6SB at 10.30.
Cors Caron National Nature Reserve is a vast area of wetland filling the broad valley of the River Teifi near Tregaron. Access is via a broadwalk raised above the bogs and approximately 1.5 miles long. As well any many fascinating plants in this unusual habitat amongst ferns we will expect to see Royal Fern, Osmunda regalis.
As with our previous visit we are again hoping to arrange a pub lunch – details of this and directions will be sent out nearer the date.
