WS: Titterstone Clee Hill, Shropshire: “Postponed until 2023 – please see new meeting planned for Thursday 23rd June 2022”
June 16 @ 10:30 am - 4:30 pm
Titterstone Clee Hill lies about 7 miles to the east of Ludlow at SO 59145 77934 and is an isolated hill, the highest point in Shropshire, with fine views and an excellent fern flora. We have visited as a group once before but back in 2010 and such a good site is well worth a repeat visit. Those of you with back copies of The Bulletin will find a write up of our visit in the 2010 edition on page 242. Amongst the many ferns on the site, we would expect to find Cryptogramma crispa, Huperzia selago and with luck Botrychium lunaria and perhaps Dryopteris oreades.
The exact arrangements, including the meeting point will be decided nearer the time. We expect to visit another site in the area but conditions on the day will influence our plans, the boulders on the summit are not a place for bad weather!
We will send details a week or so before the meeting but expect to bring a lunch and to have suitable footwear for hill-walking.
