** This is a Botanical Cornwall Group meeting with fern interest** A walk alongside the Tamar estuary in SX4361 and SX4362 at Cargreen and Landulph, adding records to the 1km squares and searching for Sea Spleenwort (Asplenium marinum), and to check an old Brittle Bladder-fern (Cystopteris fragilis) record (could it have been C. diaphana?). BPS Cornwall and Devon group - Saturday 1st October – Tavy Cleave, Dartmoor, Devon A walk up a moorland valley recording Huperzia selago, Phegopteris connectilis, Oreopteris limbosperma, Hymenophyllum tunbrigense and H. wilsonii, and perhaps Gymnocarpium dryopteris. A joint meeting with Botanical Cornwall and the British Pteridological Society. A whistle-stop tour of east Dartmoor looking for Lanceolate Spleenwort (Asplenium obovatum), Narrow Buckler Fern (Dryopteris carthusiana) and its hybrid D. x deweveri, Fir Clubmoss (Huperzia selago), Stag's-horn Clubmoss (Lycopodium clavatum) and Beech Fern (Phegopteris connectilis), as well as other commoner ferns.
