Images

Image size is a confusing concept because most computers will adjust the image size to fit the screen. However it is not efficient for us to store lots of large files and some files will be rejected by our host if they are too large. You can use this app to see how big your image file is and resize it to fit the website

PDF

Most pdfs are best viewed in 2-page mode. To enable this in Chrome, open a new tab and enter:
chrome://flags/#pdf-viewer-update
You have to change the setting from “default” to “enabled” and then you will be prompted to relaunch your browser
Once enabled, you will see at the top right, next to the printer icon, a circle with 3 dots
If you click on this, you will see the the two-page option
